Manic Monday--Thor The Sitcom

In ye olden days of Asgard, the giant Thrym has stolen Thor's hammer while the thunder god slept. The price for its return?

Well, the Asgardians prove a wee bit less than noble...

Yet Freya is having nothing to do with it:

Cue the laugh track and commercial break!!

As we return, Thor is in drag...

And Loki plays an awful lot of Red Riding Hood with Thrym:

...and...

...and when Thrym tries to peek beneath the veil:

Well, that's enough to seal the deal. But Thrym makes a really bad choice of wedding ceremonies:

And, after 4 pages of Thor killing giants (as only Don Heck can draw)...

Cue laugh track, roll end credits...

Now, on page 1, Roy Thomas tries to assure us that this isn't a true story, that it's only anti-Thor propaganda spread by Loki:

But isn't it just as likely that it's a true story, and the idea idea that it was a false story is in and of itself propaganda to save Thor's reputation? Once word got out that Thor was a cross-dresser, the Asgardian elite needed a cover story to protect the heir apparent...

Roy Thomas and Don Heck show why they should be in charge of the Thor 2 movie in Marvel Super-Heroes #15 (1993).

Well, I guess if Captain America could do it, might as well bring Thor into that wacky gender-bending world, too!

This story from old norse mythology was one of my favorites just for craziness. I am surprised to see marvel adapting it in any form. But if Loki wants to get all smug about how Thor's a cross dresser he better account for his own actions. Odin's 8 legged horse comes from Loki, and I don't mean he assempled it ala Ikea. He had changed form into a mare and got into a family way with a stallion. That's just all sorts of perv right there.

....not to mention Loki's recent reincarnation as an actual woman in the first year or so of Straczynski's Thor reboot.

Add to that Odin's flair for fabulous, Vegas showgirl-like headgear and a disturbing pattern begins to emerge.....

...why didn't Thor just recall Mjolnir to his hand? Isn't that one of it's "things"? :/
